Throughout his book, Luke describes a series of miracles Jesus performed. He heals a man with leprosy and tells a paralyzed man to, ‘get up and walk.’

Jesus tells some hard-nosed fishermen to throw their nets overboard and they catch so many fish that their boat almost sinks and Luke’s book dramatically ends with the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Ard Louis, Research Fellow at Oxford University, argues that an unquestioning bias against miracles may not arise from science itself, but rather stems from background beliefs that you may hold.
